Cast on 136 stitches using Norwegian cast on. These instructions by Stacy Perry are good

I finished the cowl and when I tried it on felt the cowl part too loose. So I frogged back to the body and changed needle size to 3.5mm. I also decreased 20 stitches evenly along the horizontal rib.

The body part sits perfectly and doesn’t curl in at all. Reducing the stitches by 20 and knitting a smaller size needle will not affect how the body sits.

A quick easy knit. This yarn is perfect for against the skin wear. I can see me making quite a few as they’ll make great gifts for men and women.

Now this one is finished the next Aran Weight one will be

  • 136 stitches on 3.5 and not 4mm needles
  • I’ll decrease 30 stitches instead of 20 along the back and use 3mm needles
  • I will knit less rows for the neckline. I only noticed this once cast off and not while knitting.

This is very comfortable but I’m going to gift it to a friend who is slightly bigger than me and it will fit her better.
