Notes

The Yarn:
Shiny is a really rich, metallic bronze with such an impressive shimmer! Wish I could capture this in photos - it’s amazing. I considered holding it double since it doesn’t bloom, but single is working very well.

Garthenor Number 2: I LOVE this yarn, and the huge textural contrast between the Shiny and this matt, bloomy Shetland.

Clue 1:
I was a bit worried about the lack of stretch in Shiny and how this made the piece curl, but it’s fine. Ran it by Stephen and he said it’s all good too. So yay!! Can’t wait for Clue 2!!

Bonus Clue:
Brought home 13 different skeins for CC2 options and finally decided for a pale, 80s stone-washed denim - sky blue non-superwash merino naturally dyed with woad by Trava & Wool. It’s soooooo gorgeous! Like knitting with double cream. Looks very grey now in this section, but I’m sure the blueyness will show up better in later sections.

Clue 2:
Almost ripped this back a few times with the plan to make the MC just 2 rows and CCs more rows because there’s so much MC, but when it’s pinned out it’s fine. There are a lot of stitches now! And I’ve used 400m of MC and about 150m each of CC1 and CC2. Hardly used any CC2.

Last bit:
Of course I had to do the full chevron set! It needed it for the balance, I think otherwise it was too coppery.

I LOVE IT!!!!!!
