Italian Cast On for 2x2 Rib
This cast on gives a much cleaner and stretchier cast on to your ribbing.

Note: The “bronze” yarn looks gold in the picture, but it is much bronzier in person. I promise!

Front:
Somehow, when i got to the top of the shoulders I ended up with 13 sts instead of 14 sts. It doesn’t really affect anything though since they all get BO anyway.
Back:

Sleeve:
I had to start over three times before I figured out what I wanted to do!
•CO 43sts (instead of 53) to make it a little more fitted looking.
•12 repeats (instead of 11) with the backward loop cast on every 5 rows. this left me with 68sts on needle
•10 repeats of “Dec row (RS)” (instead of 13) which left me with 40sts. This put me back on track with the pattern.
•The rest I did according to the pattern, including slipping the first stitch of the BO’s.
Neck:
I knit only 6 rows in the blue then used a Tubular Bind Off for a clean edge. I did not want the neckband to be bulky with folding over.

It is fine for a costume piece. I really think if I had spent a little extra and not bought the cheapo blue yarn it would be a lot nicer. The Super Saver yarn is REALLY stiff. I wonder what will happen when I wash it. Maybe it’ll loosen up….eek.

I picked the #5 on my robes because my username on Pottermore is WolfNiffler5 =)
