Notes

Making this cutie for Ana’s CAL and because I want to. Making it look like the one Agnes had for a friend’s niece. :)

Mods:
There pretty much isn’t a piece I didn’t modify somehow. I’m a meddler like that.

Buggy Eyes:
Rnd 1: 5sc in magic ring.
Rnd 2: 2sc in each sc.
Rnds 3-4: 10sc. Attach 6mm eyes and sew to head.

Ears: added two rows to the end.

Body:
Added three decrease rows to the top, then three straight rows to make sort of a neck.

Horn:
I couldn’t make hdc and back loops look nice, so I used sc instead, working only I back loops:
6sc in ring
Rnd 2: 6sc
Rnd 3: (sc in next, 2sc in next st) around (9sts)
Rnd 4-5: 9sc
Rnd 6: (sc in next 2 sc, 2sc in next st) around (12 sts)
Rnd 7-10: sc around.

Head:
Made the nose a little smaller and shorter. Stop increasing after row 10, work 2 rows even. Work 1 row pink, then 9 rows white. Pick up pattern at row 32 and finish as directed.

Legs:
Work first 7 rows in pink; no tan. Work row 4 in BLO and insert a plastic circle into each hoof for a flatter shape. Stop legs at row 18 for the stubby look. (In retrospect, I’d start with base 6 instead, or increase 1 more row, for fatter legs as well)

Mohawk/Mullet Mane: I loop-hooked in strands every row in rows of six, starting just behind the horn. The center of the back got a little wonky, but you can’t tell; I just tried to keep the sides straight.

Tail: using strands about the same length as the mane (mine were a bit shorter), loop I about three rows of four stitches across, plus two on the top, centered. I tied one more strand around the whole thing before fluffing, to keep it all together.

To Fluff, just use a sharpish yarn needle (and a good tv show or movie) and separate each strand into its plies for kinky, silky soft hair.
