Making this a near copy of Izzy’s stocking. Here’s Frankie’s similar stocking. See below for charts.

Just a bunch of stash yarn. Mostly wool, with S&K acrylic for the red. Some KP Palette held double and such. Vanna’s Glamour for the sparkly bits.

Picot hem:

• CO 72 (36x2; 12x3x2; 4x9x2)
• K a few rows
• K2tog, YO
• K a few rows (more than before so it pulls the hem in when you join)
• Join by picking up a st from the CO edge as you go and knitting it together with the next stitch on the needle.

Heel:
I used the pattern heel this time, but decreased more toward the end, ending with a final decrease around and cinched it closed. I also started the round in the wrong place, but I think I prefer it this way.

What I learned about floats:

• Hold the yarns together as much as possible. This pulls the float along at about the same tension, so when you wrap or use it next, the float is more likely to be loose, which is better than tight.

• Wrap any float 5 sts or longer.

• Wrapping on the 3rd is a little too early. Wrap between the 3rd & 4th st.

• When wrapping, it’s enough to wrap the float(s) around the working yarn once. You don’t need to wrap it back after the stitch. While the latter looks nice on the back, I suspect it can make the front stitch pucker more. See in between the xmas trees where I wrapped the green floats.

• Don’t pull floats around ladders too tight. After 1 or 2 sts of every new color used per needle, stretch out the knitting on the right around the corner and adjust the stitch and float tension.
