Notes

This is my first blanket in the 2018 Stash-Down Blanket Extravaganza that dd. Libby and I are doing. See our progress here.

I love to make granny blankets and this one is turning out to be quite spring-like, hence the name.

As you will see on our project page for all of the blankets we are making, we are using colour combinations that we would not normally use, these colours are more muted that I usually go for and I am enjoying being out of my comfort zone. I will go with a more adventurous combo next time.

This one is for Yvonne, a friend of the family who needs a little comfort at the moment. She said that she is thrilled with it, it was a lovely yarny surprise for her to receive in the mail over the weekend:)

I used the jayg method to join the squares, there is a great tutorial here for this technique.

I use Bunny Mummy’s technique for the first round of border here. So no ruffle edging.

Border:

1/2. Go around whole blanket with granny clusters. I use this technique to avoid puckering. 3dc, ch 2, 3dc in corners.
3. Starting in corner work 5 tr sc in next space between clusters, 7tr between next space all along, work 9 tr in corner ch2 all around finishing with a further 4tr in the first ch2 space and sl st to beg tr.

Used around 100gm of each colour and 150gm of white.
750gm all together.
