I started this blanket back in December last year, and planned on crocheting 80 squares then using JAYG to make a traditional granny square blanket. I made 40 of the squares and began joining them, then we were moving house in February so I had to pack it away.
Once we had moved I’d lost interest in making the remaining squares because all the ends were daunting (2 ends per colour, 4 colours per square and still 40 squares to go = 320 ends ) so it languished as my only major WIP not finished.
When Kylie of @stitchedupcraft released her ‘Spin Your Granny Square’ blanket pattern I joined in with the CAL and made a rainbow themed blanket. I enjoyed it so much I wanted to make another one! Then I remembered the 40 squares already made, calculated that I only needed to make one more square to create a 5x5 square spin blanket (plus 16 half squares and 4 corners) so I went and dug it out of my box! Sooo satisfying to make a blanket so ‘quickly’ as all the major work was already done woop woop!
Now onto the border and then it is all done, after 6 months
