This is the best Icelandic sweater that I have ever made.
It is also the 10th Lopi sweater!

I am crazy, delriously happy!
It is The project that I am happiest with of 2015, if not all my knitting to date!
In the pictures we also see Mikael’s Pembroke Hat II. The colour seen in these pictures here are actually the better colour rendition.

As Sweden welcomes a new baby prince, we can also celebrate a new Riddari in these same fabulous colours - if I do say so myself.
Here is this very Riddari’s new sweater twin!
Beautifully made by Kammebornia

Two more have shown up: one knit by gydak and one knit by OlaS
Exciting times
And thus it begins
I am happily making a Christmas gift sweater.
Gauge:
18 sts 24 rows. Perfect gauge to pattern.
- my new tighter gauge shows itself again.
Last time I knit size Medium for Mikael, at my previous lose gauge. This will be a more slim fitting sweater.
November 21, 2015
Started the first ball of mustard at 30 grams.
Tubular cast on.
November 22, 2015
The mustard for the bottom colour work used 25 grams.
Including one extra row of colour work. 10 rows of rinbing.
November 23, 2015
Ball 3 of MC started!
November 24, 2015
The body is completed (43cm) with only 3 balls of MC - grey heather.
November 25, 2015
20 rows of ribbing on the sleeves.
A new ball of mustard.
I am so eager to get to the yoke, that I am knitting the sleeves parallel.
November 26, 2015
Sleeves done!
One ball of MC for each sleeve, came out at 49 cm from cast on edge. Not enough, I had planned to make them 51 cm. So I broke in to a new ball (6th ball of MC) finished the last cms.
November 27, 2015
The Yoke is begun!
Row 1 - knit even.
Row 2 - first short row. Knit to the end of the first sleeve, w&t - purl back over the back to the same point on the other sleeve.
November 28-29, 2015
Not one stitch knit on this.
November 30, 2015
Second short row after row 17 was completed.
December 1, 2015
Third short row after row 31 was completed.
A new ball of mustard.
December 2, 2015
Forth short row after completing row 36.
Contemplating whether or not the third short row on row 32 was better left out - aesthetically…
December 3, 2015
Fifth short row was on the last row before the ribbing.
All of the mustard used up:130 grams.
December 4, 2015
A mere block away.
All knitting done!
All grafting done!
All weaving in - done!
Due to the fact that this is a Christmas gift, I can’t block it - right now - for fear it might be seen.
