This yarn was gifted to me.
As I thought about what I could make and was considering all kind of different projects, I finally settled on this one. That way I will always have it in view and can think of the kind gift- giver.
I had made one a few years back for my friend Bobbi.
I realize it is a bit high end for a mere kitchen towel, but I think that’s OK.
I added some stripes in Peaches and Cream Cotton and also used that to double up for the hanging loop. Another change I made is that I kept the first and last three stitches in garter stitch ( instead of one).
Also instead of counting the rows or stitches, I put a marker at 5 sts from the center again and again so not to miss when to do the garter stitch rows ( rows 10-14 in the pattern). That said, I put in the garter sections and colored rows a little more randomly just to make it different.
Finished in three days and -yeah!- found the perfect button in my buttons drawer.
