Altered to do in the round as I hate seaming. After doing the first ‘row’ of fsc, simply sc down the other side, then just go around instead of back and forth.

I made my bag 11 inches tall (12 inches wide) as 9 inches seemed too short.

On the back side of the last round, I did 8 sc then 6 sc for the strap. Turn and chain 1 then 6 sc for 26 rows. Then do the two sc, skip two sc and chain 3, 2 sc for the button hole. Follow with two more rows of chain 1 and 6 sc. Do an additional 2 sc in the corner, then sc down the side to the top of the bag. Do 13 more sc towards the middle, then chain 30 and ss into the 11th chain and each of the remaining chains for the middle button loop, then slip stitch to the sc at the beginning of the chain, followed by 12 more sc, the second strap just like the first and the final 8 sc to the other side of the bag. Sc around the front of the bag. Continue with sc until you reach the first strap. Sc up the strap, 3 sc in the corners and back down, across the bag and the chain and the next strap and to the side of the bag. Fasten off.

Make two rectangular pockets and stitch on as in the pattern. One for glasses and one for miscellaneous.

Finished the first pocket. It’s 18 stitches wide (4.5 inches) by 6.25 inches deep. I will make the 2nd pocket wider, but just as deep.
