This was my second hat with this pattern. I really like it, but the hat is a bit short as is. I added two extra repeats for the cables which made it a good length. For this hat, I CO 96 and it feels slightly tight, even with size 8 needles. This is likely because my yarn is 70% cotton, so it doesn’t stretch as much.

Next time, I will CO 108 stitches like I did the first time I made it and that will fit an adult head better.

Gauge: (body) 33 stitches per 4 inches on US 7 and ribbing was 30 stitches per 4 inches.

Width of hat flat is 6.25 inches unstretched.

The cables are beautiful and this pattern makes an impressive looking hat!
