I’ve got gauge with a regular 4ply @400m/100g, and decided to go with the merino/silk, as it gives the textured pattern more depth than the 100% wool (the darker grey), but isn’t too shiny. The other yarn I tried was Blacker Yarns Lyonesse 4ply, @174m/50g, but it was a stitch too big, and the pattern didn’t have the crispness I wanted, possibly as the yarn is heathered, or maybe it was the linen content?
After joining the back/fronts, I marked the opposite end of the buttonhole rows, so I know where to sew on the buttons. I then counted the rows upwards on the button band to mark the ends of the first 2 buttonholes that were made before joining.

When doing the welted edge on the neck, instead of running a thread through, I put the stitches from the purl bumps straight onto another needle, ready to knit together when joining.
I picked up the purl bumps immediately under the needle after the first (purl) row, using an 80cm 2.25mm needle, and left it there for the joining row. You need to pick them up from underneath, but it’s easier to put the needle down from the top, and then grab the stitch and mount it correctly.

I made the body 3/4” longer than the pattern.
Body weight, without neck finishing, 222g, 888m
With neck finishing, 229g, 916m

I have 87g, 348m, left for the sleeves. Andrew’s skeins are always overweight.

I added 1” to the sleeve length, so the inside sleeve is 17.5”, and just long enough (my arms are long…)
The first sleeve took 43g, so I have 44g left for the 2nd one. And hopefully enough left to sew on the buttons!

I found another couple of grammes that I’d put aside after taking out 2 rows near the beginning, and I needed it to finish… yarn chicken success…

Finished weight, 318g, 1272m

I used this method for sewing on the buttons, but didn’t add anything to make the button higher. That’s a really useful tip if the button band is double knitted, but it wasn’t necessary with this pattern. I just wrapped the yarn round under the button a couple of times. Bust, 44” (the front panels stretched quite a lot, the back stayed the same).

Mine is worn with approx 9” of positive ease.
