Dani Sunshine has done it again. I knitted this darling pullover in just 5 days of my spare time. As usual, the pattern is extremely clear and easy to follow. Short row neck shaping in back gives it a great fit. It has an A-line silhouette (increasing on sides) which makes it comfortable to wear over a t-shirt, if desired.

Jacob (left) is 5 years old, but very tiny for his age. I knew he would not wear this sweater because he only likes action figure t-shirts. Therefore, I made the sleeves 2 inches longer than the size 4 so that his older sister, Brittany (also extremely tiny for her age) could wear it. As you can see, the sleeves are 3/4 length on her. She is beyond thrilled with her new pullover.

There was plenty of ease in the sweater for Brittany because of all the increases and A-line silhouette. I think it looks adorable on both of them.

I did the stitches for the split sides differently. Following is how I almost always do my edges. It works well for collars, scarves, split hems and many other edge applications. It does not roll. Basically, I slip (purlwise), the first stitch of every row and then knit the last stitch. All other stitches are per the pattern’s 1 x 1 rib. Specifically (because we are working with an odd number of stitches in the row):

Beginning of RS rows: With working yarn in front, Sl purlwise, Purl….

Beginning of WS rows: With working yarn in front, Sl purlwise, Bring working yarn to back, Knit…

End of RS rows: Purl, Knit…

End of WS rows: Knit, Knit

It’s very important to have the working yarn in front before slipping - especially when starting a WS row.
