Notes

I used four skeins of the Bare that I dyed with Kool-Aid, plus one skein of green Twill. Here is a tutorial for how I dyed the yarn! (In a microwave!)

The top skein starts with a gradient from dark green, which was also dyed with Kool-Aid, but on the stove. I started with a hand-wound ball, and I dipped that in the dye, so the dye would only absorb into the top layers of the ball. I’ve seen tutorials for this method; I didn’t use one tutorial, I just kind of winged it… but my ball was so tightly wound that the dye didn’t go as far in as I would have liked, there was still tons of white. So I overdyed it in the microwave using the above blogged method, adding shades of orange to the white part.

I keep making sweaters too big (because I never gauge swatch, because I’m a terrible person) so I made the medium size, hoping it’s a good fit. I know this yarn blocks super well, if I need to stretch it bigger!
--Okay it turned out pretty well, but a little big in the armpit region. My colorwork gauge was tighter, so it fits perfectly in the waist.

I made the sleeves slightly longer than the pattern suggested (6 rounds instead of 3). I used a centered double increase for the raglan shaping, which I LOVE. I think I did everything else as the pattern was written. Except for switching back to my handdyed for the bottom ribbing because I wanted to use as much of it as possible!

This yarn is technically superwash, but I hand-washed it to be safe and keep it nice.
