I used size 8 needles and adjusted my circumference size based on my gauge. I used length measurements for the standard size.

Chad is 41” around with a more narrow waist, so I cast on for 41” and gradually increase an in on each side to 43”
I’d normally allow more than 2” ease but he prefers a close fit.

Chest - 41”
Taper, slim fit - at chest - 43”, hip - 41”
Gauge 4.5sts/in, 6.5rows/in

Cast on for 41” at waist, in the round
Increase over body to 43” at arm divide

Knit front and back separately
3 needle bond off for shoulders

Pick up for sleeves - 2/3 ratio
Back and forth for underarm gusset until it fits perfectly into the 3.25” space, after right side row
then in the round for decreases to cuff
