Had a real slog in getting these done. My plan was to improve my stranded knitting by knitting this whole project in the ‘Philisopher’s Wool’ technique assuming I must get the hand of it by the end of the project.

So, I preserved with this through a whole leg-warmer and a half. But, getting this far and not seeing any improvement in my uneven technique I got a little disheartened and changed to not weaving the floats in and just leaving them loose along the backs. Suddenly there was a dramatic improvement! I’ve included a close up photo of both the woven in and stranded method.

I’m much, much happier with the second method but I don’t know what I’d ever do if I had a stretch of more than 4 or 5 stitches! Plus, I’m really annoyed that I couldn’t get the technique of weaving them in as it’s a fantastic method. I guess I still need a lot more practise with my left hand as my continental knitting still leaves a lot to be desired.
