Weaving in ends as I go.
Working the Motifs in chunks. Working up to hook size change.
This is my biggest chrochet project to date but is so pretty I had to make it.

I lost momentum on the “weaving in as I go” thing and just spent an hour weaving in ONE octagon. It is a good thing this blanket is so gorgeous. The pattern is fun and engaging.
Doing the octagons assembly line style, row by row, means that It is easy enough to memorize as You go.
I dont expect to keep up this pace though, tomorrow I am back to work :(

Slow and steady progress. I am absolutely loving this pattern. Very clear, love the written and charted pattern. I am nearly (1 triangle away) finished the first strip. I am trying to finish this blanket it quarters to keep my motivation. Looking forward to getting back to the octagons, as I think that are super fun and pretty.
Also, My little girl has chicken pox so I made it back to work for exactly 1 day before having to take off to be with her. Lots of cuddles not too much chrochet time

Finished all the squares today.

Haven’t updated in a while. I have finished all the motifs except the hook size change after the flower on 7 (The part that makes them into octagons).
I still Love this pattern. I will not have enough storm blue. Will use violet instead , as purple is my favourite colour and it is suitably dark.

A word of warning, tuck your ends in as you go along…I know it is boring, I know that crocheting is so much more fun than sewing (otherwise we’d sew tbh), you WILL thank me.
The only reason I have picked this up to tuck in ends is I have hurt my wrists on my happypotomus and need to keep myself busy. If it werent for that this beautiful and very nearly finished project (all motifs are done) would be languishing in the pile of UFOS.

All Octogons have their ends tucked in. There are 4 squares and 4 triangles still needing tucking! I am so so so eager to start putting this baby together. I hope to finish it this weekend. Including the purchase of a rod to hang it on.

Have joined the first two rows mostly. Really coming together now.

I have finished the edging rounds! I have tucked in all ends except the ones used for joining! This thing is nearly DONE!
Just need to add loops, wash and hang! SO EXCITED!

Finished and hung! I am so in love.
A beautiful result from a wonderfully detailed and clear pattern.
Used Oak dowel to hang 16mm diameter. I joined with a sc in the corner, chained 7 and joined with a sc every 5th stitch. I did this along top and bottom. The dowel holds it squareish so I didnt block. I may eventually, but after all the ends I am happy to move this to the “done” list.
