Low Sew Fat Cat
This design was inspired by a fat red tabby cat named George, who has tiny feet. Only the ears are attached, everything else is crocheted in place. This pattern works up quickly and is easy to memorize once you’ve made it, making it ideal for selling at markets.
Measures 6 inches tall with #5 bulky weight yarn. Using #4 worsted weight yarn, 3.5 mm hook, and 8 mm safety eyes results in a cat about 3.5 inches tall. Using #6 super bulky yarn, 7.0 mm hook, and 15 mm safety eyes equals about 8.25 inches tall.
#5 bulky weight yarn - I used Jo-Ann Big Twist Posh in Croissant and Brown Butter.
5.5 mm crochet hook
12 mm safety eyes
11 mm safety nose
Stitch markers
Polyester fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle
Uses less than 100 yards of #5 bulky yarn.
