This is a new version of the classic protest Pink Pussy Hat, designed by Kat Coyle for the Women’s March of 2017. (That pattern is here on Ravelry.)

Mine, in support of transpeople’s rights to dignity and healthcare, is worked in the round. If you prefer to work flat, you can use Kat Coyle’s pattern and work each color for 1 3/4” (blue, pink, white,
pink, blue, blue again, pink, white, pink, and blue).

But for people who hate seaming, I offer this method.

You will need about 24 yards each of pale blue and pale pink, and about 12 yards of white worsted weight yarn. Brand and fiber are up to you, but cotton, silk, linen and bamboo will not be as elastic
as wool or acrylic so you may need to make the rib part on needles 2 sizes smaller so the rib hugs your head as you want.

Sizing: This pattern yields a hat that is 14” around at the lower edge (unstretched) and 7 3/4” tall, which should fit most adults. I suggest measuring your head where you want the hat edge to be, and the
desired height from that edge. If your measurements vary significantly, you may want to adjust the cast-on number of stitches and the height of each stripe.
