Crochet: Afghan block
This square is made working in the rounds.
Knitting: Earwarmers
This patter is done with a simple twist left and twist right. If you know how to do the twisted stitches without a cable needle, it’s easy to work and goes a bit faster. If you knit loosely, you may need to either go down a size in the needle or use a thinner yarn.

Instructions for the bullion stitch are included in the pattern notes though there are a few different ways to do the bullion stitch. I have found youtube helpful with the different methods of the bullion, as well as the tutorial here.
