I made this little guy for my cousin who definitely loves to have a little wine with her meals. I didn’t necessarily want to make a wine bottle, but I thought this would be a good alternative :)
Crochet: Animal Toy
I created this little octopus boy for my own little boy. He became interested in octopuses and wanted me to make one for him. He also wanted me to make a costume for him to wear in addition to having his own octopus boy :) So while he goes around pretending to be an octopus, he has a little friend to play with him!

This doll I made as a Christmas gift for my 1 year old daughter. Since it was for her, and I’m pretty particular about things turning out just so, it took quite a while to get finished. I started right around Thanksgiving, but didn’t finish until after New Year’s with a bunch of other projects that needed to be attended to. Also, I kept not lik...

Meet Lana- named for the Spanish word for wool. I’d been thinking about making this little girl for a while, I was just trying to decide how I was going to make the fleecy part. After all the craziness of the holidays, I was able to take some time and finish her up!

I made this for a swap for a sweet little girl my own daughter’s age.
Crochet: Doll
Named after my littlest sister, and probably for her for Christmas.

This one was challenging for me to figure out how to do the snowflake. I’m a “increase by 5’s” person and it wasn’t easy for me to do the increasing by 6’s, or the doily like aspect of the snowflake.

Francisca’s twin sister, I made them at the same time, the bodies are essentially the same, with the differences being in the wings.

Crochet: Doll
made for my sister whose stuck in the hospital on bedrest, her baby wants to meet us at 24 weeks instead of 40. She’s pretty upset since she’d planned a homebirth with a midwife and got a wrench thrown into her plans, so I made her favorite animal and made the little girl look like her!

Summer is named after my stinky middle sister, the one I never got along with :) I did check with her first before naming a skunk after her. She was super quick to make, and I’m having fun making these little costumed kidlets!

I used the detached chain stitch, or lazy daisy stitch, on her leg to make the flowers and french knots for the end of the eyelashes, and this time I just embroidered the hair on without making hair in my usual way. She really didn’t take that long to make, and I do like her more now that I’m done with her. I’ve named her another family name, a...

I get most of my ideas by talking to my little boy, this one’s no exception. We were discussing Halloween costumes, and he wanted to borrow my little sister’s old dinosaur costume, we couldn’t find it, but I decided to come up with my own version in crochet.

This was number 3 of my designs, done in ISU colors to placate my husband’s comments about crocheting all the time. I like his big ‘ole mustache since he reminds me of a couple of my uncles.

Named after my mom and grandma, my very first design was an effort to make a doll that I wish was available to me when I was a brown haired, brown eyed little girl in a land of blond, blue eyed dolls!
