Alpaca 4 ply has a count of 3/11nm and 367m (400 yds) per 100g. Alpaca 4 ply is 100% Superfine made from the fleece of Alpaca that have been especially bred for their fineness. Alpaca is a hollow fibre which has excellent insulation properties meaning it can retain more heat, making it 3 times the warmth of sheep’s wool. It is smooth and silky to touch, to work with this yarn is heavenly.

It has hypoallergenic properties, it contains no lanolin, which makes the fibre safe to wear if you have skin allergies. The yarn is 100% animal fibre and perfect for dyeing. The yarn is naturally pale in colour and would dye up well in subtle light shades or bright and vibrant colours. For bright vibrant colours we recommend using acid or natural dyes.

Alpaca 4 ply is especially suited to weaving, knitting and crochet accessories and garments for example: - socks, scarves, shawls, baby garments, jumpers and cardigans.
