A very simple but highly-textured stitch pattern, primarily formed of garter stitch, forms this “scaley” cowl, guaranteed to scare off any chill! Worked flat and joined with a three-needle bind-off.

7” tall x 21” circumference; size can be increased by working additional multiples of the stitch pattern.

36 sts x 48 rows = 4” in Scale Texture Pattern

Designed to be worked using handspun singles yarn (14 wpi), spun with very soft twist and washed to set the twist before knitting.

Beware: the world will wonder how you managed to make such marvelous texture emerge from soft yarn and a pair of pointy sticks!! ROAAARRRR!
