Allyson Dykhuizen is a knitwear designer and knitting teacher from Michigan who lives in Chicago. She teaches virtual knitting classes and hosts knitting retreats and events at allysondykhuizen.com. She manages a social networking site LauraAllyson.Party. Her book Midwestern Knits was published in 2015. Her Craftsy class, published in 2018, is included in The Great Courses Knitting 101.

Allyson is inspired by classic knitting techniques but makes them fun and appealing to a more fashion forward knitter by using unusual construction and modern shapes.
