My designs usually come from a need to be able to make something I can “see” in my head but just can’t find a pattern for. Since it was something I wanted, I thought others might too. :)

A bit of background about me … I have been knitting since I learned in Brownies many years ago. Back then I used to get my mom to cast on any new project as I just couldn’t get the hang of it. There was a lull of a few years (those teen years!) where I didn’t knit and then when my daughters wanted slippers I would use the Speedy Slippers pattern to knit them. Eventually they tired of homemade slippers and I set my needles aside. Then Harry Potter happened! I even found my original set of needles! And I think I made 8 scarves that Christmas! and I never looked back … increasing my skills and knowledge with every project since. :)

And then it was time for crochet. A few years ago the local crochet club had a learn to crochet day. I am thankful that my friend Maureen invited me and now I’m becoming more and more comfortable reading patterns of increasing complexity, yet still making my favourite Mary Jane slippers (they were all I could make after I first learned).
