Carla Cuadros
My mom taught me to knit when I was about 8 or 9 years old, and for many years we knit happily together. We used to go to the yarn shop and pick out a pattern we both liked, then each of us would choose a different color, and we would make the same sweater.
In those days, I was a strictly by-the-book knitter and sometimes wondered how anyone could ever design their own knitting patterns. But then I have found myself wanting to make beautiful and unique things, but couldn’t find a pattern that was just what I wanted to make. So, after many years of knitting other people’s patterns, I finally found the courage to strike out on my own and write patterns for the things I want to make. Hopefully you will want to make them, too.
My mom is no longer here to share this with me, but I feel that connection every time I pick up my needles and especially every time I look up and see my own daughter knitting right alongside me.
I am a TKGA certified Master Knitter, and I like to create elegantly simple designs that are not too difficult, but that just might teach you something new.
I was formerly known as Carla Pera.
