While I am a museum curator by day, knitting has been bringing me joy in my free time since my grandmother taught me how to hold needles and yarn. For years, I’ve enjoyed creating my own designs, but my journey into pattern writing truly began when I started developing projects to teach new techniques and stitch patterns at my LYS, Sybil’s Yarn Shop. Designing for classes challenged me to think about clarity, accessibility, and how to break down complex ideas into patterns that empower knitters to learn and grow. My patterns reflect this teaching approach—thoughtfully constructed, approachable, and always with a focus on building skills while creating something beautiful.
