Maria David Castro

I’ve learned to knit with my mother and later - when one of my older brothers left to work and study in France and found the odd job as a knittting designer for French magazines - the house was swarmed with all sorts of yarns from his leftover projects and I kept on using them to this day.
After working for many years in the publishing industry, a bachelor’s degree on French and Portuguese Literature and a Masters dissertation on a contemporary Portuguese poet I found myself without a “proper” job and I love it.
Recently, I bought a knitting machine but the hand knitting bug is still quite strong and I have a few projects to share!
I prefer simple knitted pieces rather than elaborate projects and I have a particular fondness for colors and textures.
You can read some of my ramblings - oficinadasmalhas.com (for machine knitting) or nidushandknitting (for hand knitting) - or visit my page here on Ravelry for further updates on my projects.
