I started knitting in June 2008. I always knew that I would like knitting but never found the time to learn. At some point, I told a co-worker that I wanted to learn before our upcoming 2-day staff meeting since it was ok to knit at the meetings. She sent me a “learn to knit” DVD and I bought needles and yarn on my way to the airport. That night in my hotel I got ourt the needles and DVD figured out how to cast on and knit. Within a couple of weeks I learned to purl and have been knitting ever since.

Now I enjoy sock knitting, double knitting, writing and improvising my own patterns, and my new addiction is spinning my own yarn. My next adventure will be dyeing my own yarn/fiber and getting a spinning wheel. I also hope to get some patterns up soon (market bag and my double sided ear flap hat).
