Hi Everyone!

I thought I’d tell you a little about myself:

My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was little, so little that I don’t remember not knowing how to crochet.

I fiddled at it off and on when I was young, but when I was 14 I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and I pretty much stopped doing everything other than school work and figuring out how to get myself out of bed each morning.

I got through high school and university with a degree in Chemistry. I got a few jobs with various pharmaceutical companies, got married and had my boy! I also got a few more diagnoses though too: PLEVA, Hashimoto’s, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Daily Headaches, IBS & Chronic Fatigue.

Also had a few surgeries along the way; including multiple knee surgeries and replacements and having my wrist fused.

I had to leave work due to my health issues and I eventually found my way back to crochet. Now I use it as a daily pain management coping mechanism. Distraction is wonderful!

I’ve also now started to put my experience in documentation from my career in pharmaceutical research and production to use in creating a few patterns.

I hope to continue being able to crochet the pain away as much as possible.
