MATERIALS AND TOOLS

TIP: If you need exactly the same yarn please ask in this shop https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/LittleOwlsHutRUSSIAN?

  • Plied yarn (main yarn) 300 m/100 g. To make the brown anteater I use Pehorka Camel Hair yarn. I worked with two strands taken together with 1.5 mm crochet hook. To make a gray anteater I use Alize Superwash yarn (75% superwash wool, 25% nylon; 420 m/100 g) and 1.5 mm crochet hook You will need approx. 1/3 skein.

  • Fluffy yarn. To make the brown anteater I also added Swan Down by Nazar (100% nylon; 170 m/100 g). You will need approx. 1/3 skein. To make the gray anteater I use Kamteks Khlopok Travka (65% cotton, 35% manufactured fibers; 220 m/100 g) - 1/3 skein of gray color.

  • To make nails of the gray anteater I use leftover of Iris yarn of white color and 1.0 mm crochet hook. To make the brown anteater I use Alize Diva yarn (100% microfiber; 350 m/100 g) and 1.25 mm crochet hook.

  • Any cotton yarn to make the bag. You can use Iris yarn. But I suggest using Vita Pelican yarn (100% mercerized cotton; 330 m/50 g). This yarn is very good to work with even if you use 1.0 mm crochet hook. You can choose any color you like.

  • Strong cotton thread to attach nails, and legs and other parts onto the body, as well as to join the parts of the bag.

  • Strong thread to do sculpting.

  • Stuffing polyester;

  • 1.5 mm copper wire approx. 1.5-2 m You can buy this wire in a craft shop, but I suggest buying it in an electronic goods store. There you can buy a 31.5 cord. Before buying the cord, make sure that the wire inside it is whole and does not consist of several thin wires. With a paper knife, remove the insulation. The cable inside consists of three copper wire cords, so having bought just a meter of cord you will have three meters of copper wire;

  • White fabric plaster or insulation tape;

  • 1 pair of toy eyes, size 8-10 mm;

  • A piece of artificial leather (to make eyelids) or a piece of felt (to make eyes).

  • Transparent glue (if you want to glue the eyes on instead of sewing them on);

  • PVA adhesive (to make the anteater cub)

  • Dry pastel paints.

  • A couple of used plastic cards to insert into soles.

TOOLS:

  • 1.0 and 1.5 mm crochet hooks
  • Wire cutter;
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle;
  • Tapestry needle
  • Hard brush to tint
  • A piece of Velcro tape to brush the yarn.
