Proving that a poncho can still be shapely, Newton’s version, worked in the round from the bottom up in Valley Yarns’ Wachusett, is oversized at the lower edge and closer fitting at the shoulders, with ribbed sleeve cuffs that echo the turtleneck. The shoulder shaping comes courtesy of short rows. Lower edges and cuff trims are worked in finishing.
