#08 Garter Blocks Afghan

Knitting
June 2017
DK (11 wpi) ?
15.5 stitches and 26 rows = 4 inches
in over garter st using 2 strands of yarn
US 10½ - 6.5 mm

Knitting this plaid-look afghan in allover garter stitch keeps the edges from curling—no border required. Worked using two strands of yarn held together throughout, it’s made from seven long strips that are seamed together in finishing.

FACT: Mattress stitch is worked differently for garter stitch and stockinette stitch. For a quick primer, see our how-tos.
