Ready to use up all that scrap yarn? Each motif only uses about a yard of yarn and can be made in almost no time. (Each motif is essentially a one-round granny square.)

Once you’ve crocheted all of your squares, then you can join them or you can do what I did and alternate between making squares and joining them over time.

The joining method used for this blanket requires single crochet stitches only and creates a really beautiful, thick-textured wave pattern on the back that makes the blanket uniquely beautiful and cozy. The blanket you make from this pattern will certainly become a family heirloom once you finish it.

If you have any questions about this pattern, please feel free to contact me or check my personal 10,000 Memories blanket project here on Ravelry where I’ve posted my own notes and progress. I am more than willing to help in any way that I can.

Good luck and happy crocheting!
