MATERIALS AND TOOLS

• Main yarn – moderately fluffy yarn to see the stitches (that can be brushed)
White color – I used 13 g of ‘Khlopok Travka’ by Kamteks (cotton 65%, polyamide 35%, 100g/220 m).
Beige color – I used 65 g of ‘Khlopok Travka’ by Kamteks (cotton 65%, polyamide 35%, 100g/220 m).
Grey color – I used 2 g of ‘Khlopok Travka’ by Kamteks (cotton 65%, polyamide 35%, 100g/220 m).
• Small amount of dark brown or black smooth yarn (I used 4 m). Make sure this yarn and main yarn crochet to the same gauge.
• Steel crochet hook. I used 1.75 mm (approximately US steel hook – 6, UK steel hook - 3 1/2) crochet hook for the yarn mentioned above.
• Sewing and tapestry needles.
• Strong thread for needle sculpting (matching the color of the main beige yarn).
• Sewing thread (matching the color of the main beige yarn).
• Stuffing.
• Single core copper electrical wire for the main parts approximately 100 cm (approximately 40 inches) long 1.5-2.0 mm in diameter. Use only copper wire for the frame as copper can better stand bending compared to aluminum. You can buy it at electric supplies stores.
• Fabric tape 1 cm wide to work up the wire (the one you use to cover wounds).
• Thin copper PVC electrical wire for the ears – approx. 25 cm (10 inches) long. You can find this type of wire winded together inside a cable. You need one of those thin wires (not the whole cable). You can buy it at electric supplies stores.
Wire for making jewelry also can be used.
• Two black beads or half beads for the eyes – I used 7 mm in diameter.
• Any thin strong smooth black thread to sew the beads.
• Ready-made nose 1.0 cm (0.4 inches) wide for the toy 16 cm tall. You can make the nose using polymer clay as well (instructions are given in the pattern).
• Small amount of white polymer clay.
• False eyelashes (I used a piece 4 cm long with each eyelash being 5 mm long).
• Wool for felting matching the color of the main yarn.
• A grey suede strap – I used a piece 4 cm long – for the lower eyelids – you can needle felt them instead using grey wool for felting.
• A beige suede strap – I used a piece 2 cm long – for the upper eyelids – you can needle felt them instead using beige wool for felting.
• Brush or Velcro for brushing up.
• Any material for tinting – I used oil pastels.
• Transparent glue.
• Small and big sharp scissors for finishing up.
For nose made of polymer clay:
• Black polymer clay.
• Varnish.
• A loop for fastening the nose if needed.
