1:12 - Maria’s Wedding
The late Queen Mother, who was married in 1923, inspired this Wedding Dress - a simple long loose-fitting straight dress with short sleeves and lace panels. The dress has a short train as directed by the court in the 1920s, it is knitted separately so can be omitted if desired. The veil is long & full. A single row of pearls completes the outfit.
Hair was long, wound into a bun low on the back of the head. The front cut into a light fringe & the sides softly curled over the ears. The head dress was white roses over each ear with a band of green low across forehead joining the two small bunches of flowers.
MATERIALS: Size 20 knitting needles,
Dress: 2 reels of Venne Colcotton 70/2 or Gutermann sewing silk, 4mm silk ribbon, 6 buttons and stitch holders.
Veil: Madeira Cotona #80 or equivalent
