Handwarmer Pullover — Thumbhole Cuff Sweater
This pullover is knit with two types of yarns that have very different textures. Monarca is willowy and has a luxurious drape, while Pelage has a very warm and fluffy texture. The cuffs have thumbholes and can be used as hand warmers — a cozy, practical detail that sets this sweater apart. The more intensely haloed Pelage is used on the front, while the back is knit in Monarca so it doesn’t bunch and can be worn neatly when layered under a coat.
The front, back, and sleeves are worked back and forth from the bottom up. After the shoulders are sewn together, the sleeves are sewn to the body, then the body and sleeve seams are sewn from cuff to hem. The neckband is picked up from the neck opening and worked in 1x1 ribbing in the round.
