This edging appeared in The Ladies’ Handbook of Fancy and Ornamental Work by Florence Hartley in 1859. The stitch count varies from 8 to 15 stitches per row and there are 10 pattern rows. The edging can be blocked straight or curved. The points can be blocked into different shapes: arrowhead, sawtooth or gothic arch.
Skills needed: long tail cast-on, knit, purl, slip, slip1-slip1-knit-together (SSK), yarn over, yarn over twice, bind-off in knit stitch.

9 sts/inch and 13 rows/inch with #10 crochet thread and #2 needles in the blocked edging pattern
Gauge is not important. Any block-able thread/yarn and any size needles will work. Make a swatch to check the look and width of the edging.

2 yards of #10 thread will make a 10-row repeat of this pattern in the above gauge.
