Fast and easy, this edging from 1888 Weldon’s Practical Needlework Volume 2 starts with just 7 stitches and there are only 6 pattern rows. Weldon’s didn’t include an image, so the pattern was a surprise! I altered the first header stitch for easier sewing later. This narrow edging is best blocked curved.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, yarn over, double yarn over, k2tog and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able thread/yarn will work. Make a swatch to check size and looks.

6 yards of #10 crochet cotton will make about 42 rows or 3.5” of edging blocked in the stated gauge.
