This pattern is for a Hug-Me-Tight, or a simple vest worn over shirtwaists and dresses for extra warmth. It was originally published in 1892. All instructions have been updated and sized for multiple sizes.

Sizes are based on your front bust measurement, or bust from side seam to side seam, and thus fit from a 16” front bust measurement to a 38”.

You will need 2-4 skeins of Brown Sheep Naturespun Worsted, or 270 to 810 yards of worsted weight yarn. 100% wool or other natural fiber is recommended if wearing in a historical situation.

There are two options, one in garter stitch, and one in a basket stitch.
