This pattern is meant to use scrap yarn. Grab 2 of the same weight yarn, tie them together in one slip knot, and then begin crocheting with both strands! If one strand runs out, grab another scrap ball/skein of yarn and continue crocheting! Gauges/sizes run differently based on tensions and yarn weights. When I started, I had a super tight tension, my base of my basket measures 9.5”. My fellow testers bases start at 12” and vary from there. You should be able to adjust how big or small you want your basket after reading the pattern, or after your first attempt. There is three different variations of this pattern, all included. Stitch markers might prove handy, and a tapestry needle to sew in any loose tails and the final tail.
