The Mystery Quilt 2021 consists of ten 12”x12” squares using slip stitches and mosaic techniques and ten alternating seed stitch squares for a quilt of interesting textures and designs. Each month one slip stitch or mosaic square and one seed stitch square are completed.

The Quilt is constructed in panels. Once completed, the panels are joined with a clever method using a crochet hook. Finally, borders are added to give a finished look.

Techniques include basic knitting and purling, chart reading, and slip stitch/mosaic knitting. The rest is a mystery, one square a month revealed.

The sample used 5 colors:
1 - seed stitch squares and borders - 8 skeins
2 - background color appears in all squares - 4-5 skeins
3 - contrasting color A - 2 skeins
4 - contrasting color B - 2 skeins
5 - pop color - 1 skein

Since each square is a unique pattern, color options are endless. This makes quantity a bit difficult to predict as well. This could be the perfect stashbuster.

All mosaic patterns are chart only; the slip stitch patterns have words and charts, where applicable.
