There are instructions for 10ply (worsted weight) and 4ply (fingering weight) yarns in this pattern, but it can be made with any sized yarn by changing the number of rows that are crocheted.

yarn, hook & tools needed

• yarn for 12 parts: 12 x 20g of 10ply (worsted weight) yarn or 12 x 10g of 4ply (fingering weight) yarn - colours to come once the 2025 Advent Kit is fully released!

• yarn for joining: 20g of 10ply (worsted weight) yarn or 10g of 4ply (fingering weight) yarn

• hanging string: 6m (6.6yds) of cotton or other non-stretchy yarn / string / rope that’s a similar size to the yarn

• crochet hook: 5mm (H) for 10ply (worsted weight) yarn or 3mm (D) for 4ply (fingering weight) yarn

• stitch markers

• scissors

• tape measure

• darning needle

• iron or steamer (for steam blocking)

• pins (for steam blocking)

• ironing board or something to pin into (for steam blocking)
