Like marquise cut diamonds, the lace pattern featured in this stole has elegant elliptical shapes that are multi-dimensional and beautiful from many angles.

The knit-in Moss st borders, along with the easy-to-follow lace pattern that runs the length of the stole (and scarf) make for a fairly quick knit with fabulous results. Knit it in a very soft, worsted-weight merino wool with a slightly heathered color, as shown, for even more added dimension.

The stole size is lovely to wear over your shoulders or around your neck as a generous and luxuriously warming scarf. Or for a faster knit, work up the narrower scarf version that is perfect for gift-giving or stash-busting.

This is a pattern that lends itself wonderfully to many worsted-weight options, and would be perfectly suited for that cashmere or alpaca blend you’ve been saving …

Blocking will definitely bring out the beauty and details of this stitch pattern.
