This stranded colorwork hat was designed as Stilly River Yarns’ knitting pattern for the 2018 Puget Sound LYS Tour. Our shop is located at the corner of 271st and 99th in Stanwood, Washington, hence the pattern name. In the spirit of the 2018 LYS Tour’s theme of “Celebrating Community,” the stranded colorwork represents Stanwood’s Scandinavian heritage; the geometric motifs represent the shop’s location on the corner lot.

Sizing: The hat is available in sizes baby through adult; the kids’ sizes have two colorwork bands, and the adult size has three.

Needles: 16”/40cm circular needles in both US5/3.75mm and US7/4.5mm, double pointed needles in US7/4.5mm; you may need to change needle size to achieve gauge.

Yarn notes: You will need at least 2 colors of contrasting yarn to knit the pattern as written. The yardages given below for each size include 10% extra; if you are using 2 new hanks of the suggested yarn, you can get 2 adult hats from the hanks if you invert the MC and CC between hats.
