There was quite an internal debate on whether I should call this a pet mat or a bath mat. In the end, I gave up and decided not to call it either one. It all started when it had become clear to me that one of my dogs was never going to allow me to shower in peace. I decided the only thing I could do was make him a comfortable place to lie down in the bathroom while he anxiously waited for me to be in view again. So, for me, it’s actually a pet mat in the bathroom. It just happens to be a great bath mat too when there’s no dog on it!

The mat is just cushy enough, and since it’s made of cotton, you can toss it in the washer and dryer. I used 3 large skeins (236 yards each) of cotton yarn, holding a strand of each together.
