3D Geometric Beanie
designed by Lora McLaughlin

This hat pattern is done in front post and back post double crochet forming three dimensional squares and triangles. It even looks good when turned inside out!

Materials:

  • H hook (or hook size for gauge)

  • One skein of any worsted weight #4 yarn. This pattern only uses about 200yds. I used Caron Simply soft as it is more pliable for the thicker texture of the front post and back post.

  • scissors and an embroidery needle to weave in ends.

I used an H hook (5mm), however I crochet loosely. If you crochet more tightly or would like a bit larger hat, you could use I (5.5mm)
The brim can be enlarged by adding multiples of six rows to the brim, and additional rows in the body of the hat after row 12. see note at the end.
