The 3x1 Hood is a balaclava knit from the top down with an i-cord drawstring.

Gauge: 29 sts x 34 rows = 4 x 4 in. in 3x1 rib
Yarn: approximately 300-400 yards heavy fingering/sport weight yarn
Needles: 2.75mm for main hood and i-cord, 2.25mm for drawstring tube
Measurements: 8.5 in. deep, 10 in. face opening length, 13 in. total length
Techniques: increases, picking up stitches, vertical buttonholes, i-cord
