The 5 Mini Cowl was inspired by a purchase I made of the Manos Del Uruguay Fino Clarissa Pack, but you can use any light fingering/sock weight yarn of your choice, making this project great for stash busting or the perfect excuse to buy some beautiful new mini skeins.

With interesting rib texture, cables and the changes in colour, this special cowl will keep you cosy and warm through the seasons.

The cowl is knitted in the round from the bottom edge to the top edge. With every other round being a knit round, this project grows quite quickly.

The pattern is for one size only and produces a cowl that measures 36cm in length by 30cm in width, when laid flat, after blocking.

You will need 75m of yarn for each of the five colours. If you are close to this quantity, please check your gauge to ensure you have enough to complete each colour section.

As well as a 3mm small (40cm) circular knitting needle, you will also need a stitch marker, a cable needle and a tapestry needle.

There are only three types of cable stitches used throughout the project, they are: 2/1 LPC, 2/1 RPC and 2/2 LPC, and are explained in the pattern abbreviations. Other techniques required are cast on, cast off, knit, purl, K2tog, ssk and yarn overs.

I hope you enjoy knitting and wearing this project.
