Calling all retro video game nerds!! :)

This is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern using single crochet (SC), double crochet (DC) and some diagonal stitches (which can be done with either DC or XDC). Video link included to help with diagonal stitches if you haven’t done them before.

There are helpful hints and links to videos if you are unfamiliar with this technique, otherwise pattern assumes you know the basics.

You may use 3/DK/Sport weight or 4/Worsted weight for this pattern, 3.75-5mm hooks depending on your yarn and your personal tension preference.

Size of project (pillow, cushion, throw, afghan) will depend on how much you want to repeat the design (suggestions included in pattern).

This could also be used in conjuction with other patterns, or with stripes/plain fields left in between rows if you desired.
